Rising Students Club, Cuttack, emerged champions in the 3rd Jharsuguda Cup All-India T-20 Cricket Tournament, registering a 65-run convincing win over Sports & Cultural Association of Ashok Nagar (SCAAN), Bhbaneswar in the final at Manmohan School ground here today.
A 51-ball 72 by opening batsman Bikash Pati and rapid-fire 45 off 28 balls by captain Suryakant Pradhan helped Rising Students clinch victory, which fetched them a cash prize of Rs 41,000. Runners-up SCAAN received Rs 25,000. Pradhan was adjudged the man of the match.
Former Odisha Assembly Speaker Kishore Kumar Mohanty and woman cricket international Rasanara Parbin handed over the trophy and prizes at the closing function. Altogether 12 teams participated in the tournament, which was organised by Jharsuguda Youth Cricket Association.
